Plastic Sandbox

I’m pretty much completely done with Crackdown 2 at this point. All the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled. What we have here is a game that is only made for messing around and collecting things. You don’t want your coop buddy jumping higher than you, so you go and collect more orbs. You don’t want him kicking you around like a rag doll, so you crush mutated freaks up with various objects so you become hulk like. The game has no story, even worse than the first. If you did like the first one, you will like this one. The fun is greatly increased while playing in coop.

I remember having that turtle like sandbox when I was a kid. You play in a sandbox to have fun and create your own fun while using your imagination. Same goes for Crackdown 2. A game with a story isn’t always for the best. In some cases, it leaves no room for any alteration. The thing that bugged me the most was the city. It’s the same as the first! I really hope Crackdown 3 gets created, but you have to believe they will create a different world. Ultimately, Crackdown 1 captured my imagination more because I was scaling uncharted territory. Back to the turtle sandbox, Crackdown 2 is the box, the city is the sand. Crackdown 2 shouldn’t read “sand not included” but “comes with used sand.”

All the achievements will take you anywhere from 30-40 hours. Two of them will require 4 people, so make sure you leave an easy stunt ring available so you can get the party bus achievement without hassle.

I do Chuck Woolery proud

Yesterday I finished up yet another Japanese sim dating game, Memories off 6: Next Relation. Another game that takes around 2 hours to complete. I also did the double scoop with Sherlock Holmes and got both the American and European versions done. That game takes around 7 hours and you might find some enjoyment in it if you like point and click adventure games. It’s ho hum in my book.

I still have a lot of work to do in Gears of War 2 if I want to gain any ground. Sitting on level 59, I just need to hammer away at it before the the 8X XP vanishes like a fart in the wind.

By playing these sim dating games, I feel like I’m keeping the Chuck Woolery legacy alive.

Music makes anything EPIC

Someone made a boring video of my profile, but put music to it. EPIC! An ant crossing the road could be epic with the right music. This proves it.

I rode the CHU CHU train

The CHAOS;HEAD らぶChu☆Chu! train that is. It’s one of those strange Japanese dating sim games. If you can get your hands on it, you will be awarded with an extremely easy 1,000 gamerscore in around 2 hours. I also did some double dipping with Sherlock Holmes. Today was cheap gamerscore day. I’ll take it any way I can get it. I may do some Gears 2 later. I just realized I had CHU CHU muted the entire time I played it, maybe that was the best move, but not quite as sweet as these moves.

Wake up

I’m really enjoying LEGO Harry Potter now, I couldn’t put it down there for a bit. Dare I say the best LEGO game so far? Possibly. I wouldn’t call myself a big Harry Potter fan at all, but I do enjoy most of the movies. I’m currently sitting on 27 achievements earned for 740. The rest is just collecting stuff and there is a lot to collect. 200 gold bricks, 20 red bricks, 167 characters, 96 crests, and 50 strangers to save. I may skip out on getting the rest of those achievements for now. My rough estimation for the full 1,000 is at least 20 hours.

I also took Sherlock Holmes vs Jack the Ripper for a Sunday drive. Nothing special, but better than I thought it would be. It seems like a very easy game to boost that score. I may play a little more of it tonight.

Move along is how you could describe my gaming mood at the moment. I look back far too often and I end up wearing myself down on some old crap game. On the flip side, i’m starting to pick up the pace a little better now, hopefully I can maintain. Still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Crackdown 2 next week which can’t come soon enough.
