Stallion Doin’ Work – Day 3

Day 3-

There were no days off in between day 2 and 3. Kobe put up 39 points against the Warriors on Friday night. Which left me with at least 39 achievements to gain on Saturday to pass day 3 of the challenge.

Here’s how I did:

We started recording Episode 22 of the gamerscore popcast at about the time the game ended. 39 is quite a high mark to get and I couldn’t just waste 3-4 hours in a Skype call. But I had a solution. Game while recording the podcast. Genius, I know.

I figured I would just finish up the story in Need for Speed: The Run while we recorded and it worked out great. I ended up with 9 achievements for 340 gamerscore well before we wrapped up the popcast. It ended up being a fun one to record at pig’s expense. (Pig jokes welcome in the comments below)

The next day I went straight to work gaining two quickies in Mortal Kombat Arcade. 2 achievements for 25 Gamerscore.

I had Jurassic Park in my back pocket so I knew it wouldn’t be too hard getting the 39 achievements needed for the day. I unlocked 33 achievements for 670 gamerscore and made it extinct for good.

Total for Day 3: 44 Achievements – 1,035 Gamersocre

The Lakers and Kobe will take the floor again on Sunday night after being off on Saturday.

Stallion Doin’ Work – Day 2

Day 2-

Thursday: Off Day

No challenge took place on Thursday, but I still played some games. I finished off the Dungeon Siege III DLC I started a day prior, completed Tower Bloxx: New York for the Windows Phone, dusted off my Japanese 360 for a little Otomedius Gorgeous, and briefly checked out the Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2 which is on sale this week.

Kobe scores 30 against the Portland Trailblazers on Thursday night so at least 30 achievements needed on Friday to keep the challenge alive and kicking.

Friday: Challenge Day

Started playing SEGA Rally online arcade slightly after the game ended to hit the ground running. I unlocked 6 achievements for 80 Gamerscore in it before I checked out for the night.

I went with Jurassic Park later in the day for a Quick time event overdose extravaganza. The game just rubs its big ol’ QTE all up in your face. I unlocked 12 achievements for 250 gamerscore in that before I moved onto Battle Stuff.

Battle Stuff is currently free! Go grab it while you still can. Even if you don’t currently own a Kinect it would be wise to at least download it just in case a Kinect falls into your lap in the near future. I unlocked 8 achievements for 50 gamerscore to polish it off in very little time.

Finally I popped in Need for Speed: The Run. The only Need for Speed game to come out in the last 8 months. What a travesty to only have two Need for Speed games in the same year. EA is milking the teet out of these things! I heard bad things about The Run, and from my experience, it’s by no means a great or even a good game. A game I believe sits smack in the middle. It does not live up to the glory of Hot Pursuit, but I knew that long ago since The Run was not being constructed by the Burnout team. I did enjoy the concept about racing across the entire USA. It reminds me of a little movie called The Cannonball Run. I could do without the story in this game, hell, in all Need for Speed games for that matter. I could also do without QTE during the cutscenes. The game is just one big sprint race spanning across different locals that feature various terrains and weather elements. If you prefer sprint races over circuit races; you will find some enjoyment out of the not-so-lengthy story mode. I unlocked 6 achievements for 125 gamerscore before I called it a day.

Total for Day 2:  32 Achievements – 505 Gamerscore

Kobe dropped another 39 points on Friday night which leaves me with 39 achievements to gain on Saturday. Check back Sunday to see if I meet that goal.

Since I started the challenge Kobe has averaged 35.3 points.

Day 1: Kobe 37pts – Stallion 38 achievements – 805 Gamerscore
Day 2: Kobe 30 – Stallion83 32 achievements – 505 Gamersocre
Day 3: Kobe 39 – Stallion83 ????(check back tomorrow)

Stallion Doin’ Work Challenge – Day 1

I gave an

That’s day one in the books. Thursday is an off day when it comes to this challenge. What will I do on the off days? I’ll still be gaining points just not at a high rate, however, I might add something to the mix in the future.

Kobe and the Lakers play tonight (Thursday) and on Friday. That means a back-to-back for me on Friday and Saturday.
