Achievement Bounty 2-22-2011 – 2-24-2011 (24) (505GS)

Achievements obtained from The Force Unleashed, Bloody Good Time, Zombie Attack 2, Bulletstorm, and Lucha Libre AAA.

Completed Game: Lucha Libre AAA
Completed DLC: Jedi Temple Mission Pack – The Force Unleashed

Not much gaming going on here. I played for maybe 3 hours over the last 72. I want to dig deeper into Bulletstrom but something seems to be holding me up. However, I am eagerly waiting for Fight Night to drop next week. No doubt I will be playing the crap out of that.

Initial thoughts on Bulletstrom: The Dialog is brain-less and leaves a lot to be desired.  Or maybe I’m getting too old for this type of delivery. It’s an M rated title, but the dialog seems tailor made for the younger crowd. I’m officially sick of seeing the unreal engine. I want something that looks different, not the same as everything else. What ever happened to originality?  The story, dialog, and voice acting wont win this game an award any time soon.

I’m not far at all into the game, but the combat is pretty unique and satisfying. The action is extremely fast paced. If you like Quake or Unreal Tournament, this is up your alley. Very gory and twisted, but unique. Most shooter fans will enjoy and eat this one up. I need to play a lot more to pass further judgment.

Judge Judy Is a Bitch

Achievement Bounty 2-16-2011 – 2-18-2011 (22) (355GS)

Achievements obtained from Lucha Libre AAA, Things On Wheels, Bloody Good Time, and A World of Keflings.

Completed DLC: Cars, Roaar, and Vroom. Things on Wheels

I have come to terms with the fact that “The chase down” will never happen. I missed that opportunity but I’ll still pursue it like a fat kid chasing down an ice cream truck. Nothing has really changed in terms of overall completions since the last update. I now will only count a game completed if all DLC is done as well. That takes away Mafia II from the completed list. On the other hand, I got Things On Wheels back to completion status by throwing my money away on overpriced DLC. So now through out the year you will get to hear me bitch and complain when new DLC comes out and takes a completion away. YAY! I’m not generally THAT dude because I really don’t give a damn. But now I will be more aware when it happens. I don’t have spidey sense towards that shit. I play tons of games and ass DLC comes along all the time. Going back to mostly subpar titles, with even less ambitious downloadedable content is not all that appealing to me.

I get the feeling that everyone thinks I am this crazy psycho nerd gamer. “DUH!” Which is totally fair. I realize it comes with the territory. Or maybe anyone that belittles me to a certain degree are the psycho nerd gamers? People like to judge, mostly due to their own insecurity.  But here is a fact: You may want to sit down. I wasn’t born with the nerd gene. Please try not to faint. Sorry, it’s just not in me. Maybe I can get some tips from the grench and learn how to grow something that is not really there. I just have to figure out  in what area of the human body the “nerd” is located. Dork stuff, in general, I don’t like. I like Xbox Live a lot and wanted to have the highest score. Then it just snowballed into what it is today. There may or may not be a clear purpose to it all. I’m working with that, it’s a process just like the journey itself.  For comparison sake and comparison sake only. The ps3 trophy leader wears a shirt with his completions on it.  Just from that I know there’s a big difference in personality. To me, that’s some dork shit. I wouldn’t get caught dead in a shirt with my completions on it.( I own zero pieces of gamer clothing) But I wouldn’t go out of my way to bash him for being who he is. Or anyone else for that matter.

I also seem to throw off this perception that I’m an asshole. Well, that’s what my inside source tells me. Also know as the gossip girl wonder, Rand Al.  By throw off, I mean people judging without getting to know me for even a second. More than likely out of spite for whatever reason. I care so little about my gamerscore that I have never brought it up to anybody, not even once. Even when gamerscore is brought up by another person. It’s not like I’ll stroll into Gamestop and brag about how large my gamerscore is. Granted, I’m an introvert by nature. I’m the type of person who would rather watch one succeed, then to watch one fail. Correct me if I’m wrong but there’s a good percentage that would rather see failure.  Not sure if there’s a point to this but I’ll treat everyone the same way. Whether your gamerscore is 0 or 400,000. Same goes if your kill to death ratio is .10 or 2.0.  Dork stuff does not impress me. I’m more drawn to good people. The whole gamer population is so judgmental, it’s like a flashback to middle school days. This type of immaturity is stunting the growth of gaming seen in a good light. We (gamers) are taking two steps forward and two steps back at every corner. Have you ever watched judge Judy? She judges people for a living. You don’t want to act like that, she is a bitch.

Ketchup

Achievement Bounty 2-9-2011 – 2-15-2011 (112) (2,255GS)

Achievements obtained from Test Drive Unlimited 2, Vanquish, Lucha Libre AAA, Plants VS. Zombies, Super Hero Squad: TIG, and Duke Nukem: Manhattan.

Completed Games: Duke Nukem: Manhattan, Plants VS. Zombies, and Super Hero Squad: TIG.

Completed DLC:  Captain America Collection – Super Hero Squad: TIG and The Thanos Throwdown – Super Hero Squad: TIG

I decided to “ketchup” a little bit with the bounties. I’ve been living in the past for a few weeks now.

The Chase Down Progress as of 2-15-2011:

25 of 46

25 completed games. 46 days have passed in the calendar year.

Can this be done? Probably not. A single completed game per day is pushing it. The opportunity to chase  down has more than likely passed. I couldn’t stay completely focused on just completing games. A little bad luck didn’t help, either. I was about 20 or 30 minutes away from a Duke Nukem completion about mid week and got the dreaded corruption message. Of course that put me in bad spirits.

A gamer’s worst nightmare.

I sucked it up and started Duke from the beginning a few days later. I hated every single second of that. I’m not giving up on the chase down just yet, but I don’t see it happening. Unless I get my butt in gear RIGHT NOW.

Nothing like oddly shaped, over-sized, polygon boobs in your eye.
Luchador El MachiNeo

No 2011 stats update for today. I’ll put that together tomorrow.

Stallion VS EA Servers: A Battle to The 15th Round

Achievement Bounty 2-8-2011 (7) (170GS)

Achievements obtained from NHL 09 and Test Drive Unlimited 2.

The Chase Down Progress as of 2-8-2011:

22 of 39

22 completed games. 39 days have passed in the calendar year.

This is where the slippage begins for the chase down due to getting wrapped up in other things. Me versus the EA servers. A battle I knew would be a lost cause. EA was pulling the plug on various games on the 8th. And NHL 09 being one of those games. I found myself in a race against time, once again. At the beginning of the day, I had no intentions on getting this done. I was going to just let it slide.

Not sure what changed my mind about going for it, but I cautiously jumped in.I started at around 11:00PM EST on the 7th. 150 games played in online team play mode while maintaining at least an A- was the requirements. This is for the EA Sports Hockey League Legend achievement. Not knowing exactly when the servers were being shutdown on the 8th, I was taking a risk. Some people claimed 3:00AM EST would be the final bell. I was thinking more like 5:00AM or 6:00AM in my head. Regardless, I knew the servers were a ticking time bomb. I had to get it done faster than humanly possible. I became a robot for 6 straight hours. I probably blinked twice…three times at the maximum.  My blatter suffered, my belly ached, and my ass hurt. (But my hands were relaxed thanks to FREAK OUT!

As you can see in the picture above, 150 games played. A overall ranking. The severs went down right when the achievement was suppose to pop. Talk about unfortunate luck. Not 120 games played or even 133 games played. But 150 on the dot. Not only was I pissed off, it was kind of humorous to me as well. Here’s some of the thoughts that crossed my mind: “Just my luck”, “EA is laughing at me right now “, “Those bastards waited for me to get to 150 games then pulled the plug”, “That damn achievement is worth BIG TA points”, “Why did you look at that Xbox live message early on? It slowed you down”, “Why did you take a piss at 144 games played? That cost you the achievement.” “And I thought Zakke cock blocked me good in Chromehounds….”.

Hey Zakke! Are you going to PAX east this year? You should come by and I MIGHT let you touch my Guinness World Record. I Teabagged your….blow up doll. This is in reply for I got served!

Picture above shows that everything checks out. Except for one MAJOR detail. A card not being unlocked that should be. So here I decided to wait for the servers to come back online. It was wishful thinking, I know. I knew it was the end. My gut feeling even told me to give up, there was no turning back. The scoreboard most definitely read, “fucked”. I waited patiently for an hour, nothing happened. I kept trying to connect to EA numerous amounts of times to no avail. It was a waste. I was doomed!

I was about to call it quits and pack it up. But it was too unbelievable for me just to give up. At roughly 7:10AM, the servers came back on and the achievement immediately popped. Making that one of my most memorable achievements yet. The ordinary just doesn’t cut it at this stage. That one made me bust a groove. The 100 point achievement put me at 533,533.

533,533 by accident

Busting a groove continued because this little baby came out on the same day.

In the 2011 stats below, nothing from Test Drive Unlimited 2 is included. Not sure where to rank it since they are having server issues. Good to great range. I hope all the reviews out there mentioned that ginormous problem.
