Stallion Doin’ Work – Day 2

Day 2-

Thursday: Off Day

No challenge took place on Thursday, but I still played some games. I finished off the Dungeon Siege III DLC I started a day prior, completed Tower Bloxx: New York for the Windows Phone, dusted off my Japanese 360 for a little Otomedius Gorgeous, and briefly checked out the Arrival DLC for Mass Effect 2 which is on sale this week.

Kobe scores 30 against the Portland Trailblazers on Thursday night so at least 30 achievements needed on Friday to keep the challenge alive and kicking.

Friday: Challenge Day

Started playing SEGA Rally online arcade slightly after the game ended to hit the ground running. I unlocked 6 achievements for 80 Gamerscore in it before I checked out for the night.

I went with Jurassic Park later in the day for a Quick time event overdose extravaganza. The game just rubs its big ol’ QTE all up in your face. I unlocked 12 achievements for 250 gamerscore in that before I moved onto Battle Stuff.

Battle Stuff is currently free! Go grab it while you still can. Even if you don’t currently own a Kinect it would be wise to at least download it just in case a Kinect falls into your lap in the near future. I unlocked 8 achievements for 50 gamerscore to polish it off in very little time.

Finally I popped in Need for Speed: The Run. The only Need for Speed game to come out in the last 8 months. What a travesty to only have two Need for Speed games in the same year. EA is milking the teet out of these things! I heard bad things about The Run, and from my experience, it’s by no means a great or even a good game. A game I believe sits smack in the middle. It does not live up to the glory of Hot Pursuit, but I knew that long ago since The Run was not being constructed by the Burnout team. I did enjoy the concept about racing across the entire USA. It reminds me of a little movie called The Cannonball Run. I could do without the story in this game, hell, in all Need for Speed games for that matter. I could also do without QTE during the cutscenes. The game is just one big sprint race spanning across different locals that feature various terrains and weather elements. If you prefer sprint races over circuit races; you will find some enjoyment out of the not-so-lengthy story mode. I unlocked 6 achievements for 125 gamerscore before I called it a day.

Total for Day 2:  32 Achievements – 505 Gamerscore

Kobe dropped another 39 points on Friday night which leaves me with 39 achievements to gain on Saturday. Check back Sunday to see if I meet that goal.

Since I started the challenge Kobe has averaged 35.3 points.
